Connecting the Dots/Making New Patterns

All these years I have always wondered why I seek things that are unfamiliar; why I must always go to the extreme and push my limitations to only fail over and over again. I have always been attracted to things that seem impossible to the average person, but very appealing and possible to me. Once I realized my true passion and reflected on how I want to form my life I have come to realize it as a strength to achieve my dreams. In order to achieve great results, you must think differently and be willing to what average people are unwilling to do.

Whether inside a firm or my own, I am a true entrepreneur and thrive off of ideas and enthusiasm. My journey has changed course and challenged me many times, however these have only increased my creativity and intelligence. Steve Pavlina, the author of Personal Development for Smart People, stated, “New situations shift your mode into learning mode, which enables you discover new patterns. The more patterns your mind learns, the better it gets at prediction and the smarter you become.” Most people must force themselves to seek different and new challenges, but my mind is drawn to them naturally. That said, it is important for an individual, natural or not, to avoid complacency and seek new challenges to venture outside their comfort zone. Steve Pavlina states, “In order to grow, you must repeatedly tackle fresh new ideas to give your mind fresh input. If you merely repeat the same experiences, you’ll stagnate, and your mental capacity will atrophy.” Too many times we get comfortable and forget in order to grow we must challenge ourselves with new challenges outside our comfort zone. Steve Jobs stated correctly that life is about connecting the dots. The more dots one has, the more intelligent they will become. In order to gain new dots and patterns you must challenge your limitations and excuses for them.
